Buenos Aires, December 5 (NA) – The prosecutor investigating the disappearance of Silvia Gloria Gallardo, a woman who has been missing since February 2014 in the province of Córdoba, has ordered the preventive detention of the victim's daughter and son-in-law. According to information accessed by the Argentine News Agency from the local Public Prosecutor's Office, the Instruction Prosecutor's Office of the second shift in Villa Dolores determined the measure this Friday against Hugo Alberto Suárez and Micaela Yamila Gallardo. Prosecutor María Eugenia Ferreyra considers Suárez to be a co-author of the crime of 'qualified femicide due to gender-based violence and the relationship', while she charged Micaela with the alleged crime against the victim, aggravated by the relationship. Gallardo was last seen on February 26, 2014, in the town of Yacanto, Córdoba. The complaint was filed by Analía Prado, the victim's sister, and, despite multiple measures taken, the woman's body was never found, although the prosecutor's office considers her death to be proven. Both suspects simulated a voluntary escape by Silvia and hindered the investigation to achieve impunity, while they will continue to be held at the Bouwer Penitentiary Complex.
